Combined Programs and Alternative Pathways

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) has lifted its moratorium on new combined training program applications. An Alternative Pathways Oversight Committee has been established to develop requirements and procedures for combined training programs and review existing programs and new applications.

Programs interested in submitting an application for combined training in one of the areas listed below or for a Post Pediatric Portal Program should contact the Credentials Department at 847-229-6510 or tespina@abpn.com to obtain the ABPN guidelines, procedures, and the application forms. Applications submitted by February 1, 2017 will be reviewed by the Alternative Pathways Oversight Committee meeting in April 2017. Programs approved at that meeting will be notified by June 1, 2017.
