Robert J. Boland, MD
Dr. Boland is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Vice Chair for Education at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston MA. He is the residency training director for the Brigham and Women’s/Harvard Medical School Psychiatry Residency. As an ABPN Director, Dr. Boland serves on the Psychiatry Council and as Chair of the Alternative Pathways Oversight, Continuing Certification Article Assessment Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Steering Committees. He is Vice Chair for the Certification Examination Combined – Psychiatry Committee. He is also Chair of the Certification Examination Combined – Basic Neurology and Neuroscience Subcommittee. In addition, Dr. Boland serves on the Core Competencies, Credentials-Psychiatry, Conflict of Interest, Research and Development, Continuing Certification and Strategic Planning Committees. He is an AMA nominee to the Psychiatry Delegates to the RRC. Dr. Boland is also the liaison to the ACLP. Until June 2020, he will Chair the Residency Review Committee for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). He is the past president for the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (now the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry), the American Association of Directors of Residency Training and the Association for Academic Psychiatry. Previously, he was Chair for the Psychiatry Milestone Project Subspecialty Workgroup and for several Special Section Scientific Review groups for the National Institutes of Health.
