Robert J. Boland, MD
Dr. Boland is Vice Chair of the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of Staff at the Menninger Clinic in Houston, TX. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Vice Chair for Education at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston MA. He was the residency training director for the Brigham and Women’s/Harvard Medical School Psychiatry Residency. As an ABPN Director, Dr. Boland serves on the Psychiatry Council and as Chair of the Alternative Pathways Oversight, Continuing Certification Article Assessment-Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Steering Committees. He is Vice Chair for the Certification Examination and Continuing Certification Combined-Psychiatry Committee. He is also Chair of the Certification Examination Continuing Certification Combined-Basic Neurology and Neuroscience Subcommittee. In addition, Dr. Boland serves on the Core Competencies, Credentials-Psychiatry, Conflict of Interest, Research and Development, Strategic Planning, and Continuing Certification Committees and the Reserves Use Subcommittee. Dr. Boland is also the liaison to the ACLP. Previously, he was Chair of the Residency Review Committee for ACGME. He is the past president for the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (now the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry), the American Association of Directors of Residency Training and the Association for Academic Psychiatry.
