Jeffrey M. Lyness, MD
Dr. Lyness is Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. At Rochester, he formerly served as Associate Chair for Education and Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Program in Psychiatry, as Director of (Medical Student) Curriculum, and as Medical Director for Continuing Medical Education. As an ABPN Director, Dr. Lyness serves as Board Member-at-Large, on the Psychiatry Council and as Chair of the Conflict of Interest Committee, the Certification Examination Combined – Psychiatry Committee, and the Certification Examination Combined – Clinical Psychiatry Subcommittee. In addition, Dr. Lyness serves on the Year 2021 Nominating of Officers, Finance, Investment, Credentials-Psychiatry, Irregular Behavior, Research and Development, Continuing Certification, and Technology and Information Committees. He is also on the Task Force on Pool Question Reclassification-Psychiatry and serves as a liaison to the AAGP. Dr. Lyness is a Past President of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. He serves as Chair (until July 2020) of the Steering Committee of the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Group on Faculty Affairs and as Chair-Elect of the ABMS Health Policy and Strategy Committee. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists.
