Part II Oral Examinations for Certification in Psychiatry, Neurology, and Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology
Successful Part I candidates receive a notice of assignment to a Part II examination with a billing statement for the required examination fee. Scheduling for the Part II examination is done on a regional basis whenever feasible.
Note: The Board is not liable for candidate travel and/or other related expenses incurred as a result of the cancellation of an examination. See the current Information for Applicants publication for complete information regarding Part II examinations.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Certification Examinations
computer-administered and CAP Part II oral examinations
There are three sections to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry certification examination.
1) A 4.5 hour computer-administered examination in or around June annually
2) A 75-minute oral examination with a written vignette and a videotape segment on preschool and grade school-aged children (in November, following successful completion of the computer-administered examination)
3) A 60-minute oral examination consisting of a psychiatric evaluation of an adolescent under the observation of an examiner (in November, following successful completion of the computer-administered examination)
