| Candidates are those in the field of sleep medicine, who are seeking ABPN Board Certification. All candidates will need to complete and submit an application in order to qualify for an examination. Initial Certification
The initial certification in the subspecialty of sleep medicine examination is a multiple-choice, timed examination administered via computer at Pearson VUE testing centers. It is designed to evaluate the extent of the candidate's knowledge and clinical judgment in the areas in which a sleep medicine specialist should demonstrate a high level of competence.
